Role Playing Format
You must post in THIRD PERSON! Not First, not in second either.
I know we're not all spelling experts, but don't type like a 2 year old. We will contact and send a warning to you if your spelling is, eh, like a troll.
No "*#&#($&^@" on this site unless you're in the General board. If you have to say the word, say it. But be warned!, say anything inappropriate to a teacher or in a teachers presence and a detention can and may be given or house points deducted.
Don't use an extreme amount of "dots". They make what you're trying to say hard to read. EX: "Um...like...we're going to go to....that place....to see....quidditch"
Everything MUST BE DESCRIPTIVE, more than 4-5 sentences (AT LEAST). Describe the situation you are in, your surroundings. Use descriptive Dialogue (Third person remember!). Also be creative.
Example: Hazel slowly crept down her dormitory stairs, trying not to wake anybody. Holding her lit wand infront of her she silently pushed open the staircase door, and entered the common room. She looked around, making sure that no one was there. Hazel then began walking slowly to the portait that covered the common room entrance. "Nox" she whispered, and the light at the tip of her wand went out. She froze momentarily when the portrait creeked as it was opened, but when she was certain that no one heard, she stepped out of the common room, and ran down the corridor.
Rules:
1. You must be 11 years or older to join. You are warned though, some of the content on this site may be unsuitable for younger participants.
2. NO MISS PERFECT, MR UNSTOPPABLE characters. There is no such thing as a perfect and unbeatable character. If you choose to play like that you will be deleted, end of story. Every character, human or non-human has a weakness.
3. If you choose to be non-human (vampire, werewolf, veela, etc) you must say so when you join. If you are a character who has other powers (parsel-tounge, metamorphagus, animagi, occlumency, etc) You must also state so when you join. With both of these situations, you must state the extents of your powers and how you came to have them. (There may be boundaries placed on your powers)
4. NO insulting a fellow character just for the sake of insulting them. No following a certain character to every post he or she makes and insulting/bad-mouthing them. This will not be tolerated.
For the Karma on this board. You CANNOT smite another person if they have not done something visibly and noticably wrong.
5. Respect your fellow characters.
6. NO SPAMMING! This is not only annoying, its rude to everyone. This is simple. If you spam, you will be deleted and banned. End of story.
7. If you wish to make up your own spell, check with one of the admins. If your spell is logical, more than likely it will be accepted and you will have permission to use it. If not, try again, but don't throw a hissy-hit if it is not.
8. No character names like harrypotterrocks will be accepted. Each characted must have a first AND last name.
9. Please do not post anywhere once you have been accepted. Any additional posts before hand will be deleted. Be patient. You WILL be sorted. You will know that you have been sorted once your application will be sent to the student list.
10. If you wish to sign up as a professor, Don't go to The Sorting Hat! There is a seperate application for professors. Thank you.
11. If you are accepted as a professor, don't abuse your powers. Just because you are a staff member does not mean you can do whatever you choose.
***12***. Above all, You MUST remain ACTIVE to be on this site. There is no point joining if you aren't going to be active. You will be deleted (I apologize) after two weeks if you sign up and NEVER post.
Classes Rules:
1. You will recieve two house points to your house if you sign up for a class and make it on time.
2. Five house points will be removed from your house if you are late.
3. Other rules change, according to the class and the teacher that is teaching that class.
